A
Photographic Celebration
of the Night Sky, 2010 Edition:
Sponsored by KW Telescope
This
FAQ is for those who are considering submitting their work
for our astrophotography contest.
1)
Can I submit a photo I took even if it was processed by
someone else?
Yes,
but ALL parties involved in the final version of the photo
must be credited by you.
2)
Does KW Telescope take ownership of the photography that
is submitted?
No,
ownership remains yours. We do take the right to use the
photo as may be needed for contest purposes and exhibitions.
If your photo is selected to be included in our annual commercial
photography collection we will provide you with a contract.
3)
If my photo(s) is selected for exhibit, do I have to pay
for framing?
No.
KW Telescope is paying for the framing and printing of all
photos selected for exhibitions.
4)
Can I submit a photo that I have previously sold to a magazine,
book publisher or other entity?
Yes,
but only if you have permission to do so. We will not consider
any photos that are not legally owned by the photographer
unless they are accompanied by express written permission
from the owner to use the photo.
5) Can beginners submit their astrophotos?
Yes.
Although we anticipate a large number of submissions from
advanced imagers, we are eagerly inviting beginners to submit
their photos. This is particularly true for the lunar photo
category.
6)
What happens to the exhibit photos after the exhibitions
end?
Most
will be archived. Some will be selected for our commercial
selection of astrophotography. Owners of commercial selections
will be offered contracts for the rights to re-sell their
work and receive commissions based on sales.
